Our Mokihana Ohana
Gary E. Smith, President, Mokihana Pest Control, Inc.
PCO License #317, authorized Sentricon Inspector, State Certification E50805, 7B and 7C. as well as Field representative PCFR License. Mokihana Pest Control was founded in 1981 by Gary E. Smith. Prior to that time, he worked for various agricultural endeavors as well as Xtermco, a highly successful pest control firm on Oahu that had a branch office on Kauai.
Mr. Smith, born and raised in Hawaii, was educated at the University of Hawaii, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in tropical Agriculture in 1972. Part of the curriculum involved entomology courses which peaked his interest in insect collection, a passion that persists to this day.
Ted Kimura
Ted has the longest time as an employee of Mokihana Pest Control, Inc., starting in February 1984. He is the Operations Manager. Ted is a Certified PestControl Technician and Licensed Termite Inspector . He is also an Authorized Sentricon Technician. His licenses include; PCO License #1208, Field representative PCFR 644, State Certification E50919, 7B and 7C.
Kapaa HS graduate . ” Do it all ” guy to make operations run smoothly.
Ted has come up with numerous equipment innovations for efficient Pest Control.
Craig Smith
Craig started with Mokihana Pest Control in December 2004. Prior to returning to Kauai, he was employed by Horizon Pest Management ( Hilo ) for 2 years. Craig is our lead and Licensed Termite Inspector, Certified Pest Control Technician and Authorized Sentricon Technician. Craig holds certificates of completion from Purdue University for Termite and Pest Control correspondence course. Craig graduated from Kapaa High School and is also a graduate of University of Hawaii Hilo.
His licenses include: PCO License #1178. Fieild representative PCFR 1045,
State Certification E50843, 7B and 7C.
DJ Dato
DJ started with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in November 1993. He is our North Shore operations supervisor.
DJ is our Lead Authorized Sentricon Technician as well as a Certified Pest Control Technician and Termite inspector. He is also Certified in Integrated Pest Management.
DJ holds certificates of completion from Purdue University for Termite and Pest Control correspondence course. He is a Kapaa High School graduate.
His licenses include; Field representative PCFR 817, State Certification, E 50704, 7B and 7C.
Anthony Wabinga
Tony started with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in September 1999.
He is a Certified Pest Control Technician and his State Certification Licenses are, E50730, 7B and 7C.Also Tony is a licensed Termite Inspector and holds a Field Representative License PCFR 1127.
He graduated from Kapaa High School and besides Pest Control, is our Office Property Maintenance person.
Jerry Caberto
Jerry joined Mokihana Pest Control in August 2005.
He is a Certified Pest Control Technician with Licenses E50933 for 7B and 7C.
Jerry brings a big smile and positive attitude to his work day!
Solomon Torio
Sol started with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc in January 2003..
He is a Pest Control Technician, with State Certification License E50929 for 7B and 7C as well as Termite Control State Certification E 50828.
Sol is also Certified in Integrated Pest Management. He is our electrical and small engine repair person!
Dallas Kelley
Dallas began working for Mokihana Pest Control, Inc in March 2006.
He is a Certified Pest Control Technician with licenses E 50891, 7B and 7C as well as an Authorized Sentricon Technician.

Shannon Sibayan
Shannon started with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in Feb 2011.
He is a Certified Pest Control Technician, with Licenses E51002, for 7B and 7C.
Shannon is an avid fisherman as well as baseball coach.
Mark Javellana
Mark began working for Mokihana Pest Control, Inc in August 2011.
He is Certified Pest Control Technician, with State License E51001 for 7B and 7C.
Mark is our small engine and Vehicle Maintenance repair person.
Ryan Koerte
Ryan began working for Mokihana Pest Control, Inc in August 2014 as a Pest Control Technician.Ryan is Certified Pest Control Technician with DOA certification Licenses E50933 for 7b for Termites and 7c for Pest Control.
He graduated from Kauai High School and in his spare time loves fishing.
Chance Kinney
Chance began working for Mokihana Pest Control, Inc in August 2016 as a Pest Control Technician.
Chance is also an Authorized Sentricon Technician.
He is a Certified Pest Control Technician with Department of Ag License C50465 for 7B Termites and 7C General Pest Control.
He graduated from Kapaa High School and is an attendee at our Annual Hawaii Pest Control Association learning Conference.
Mark Martinez
Mark began working for Mokihana Pest Control, Inc in February 2018 as a Pest Control Technician..
He is a Certified Pest Control Technician with Department of Ag License C50642 for 7B Termites and 7C General Pest Control.
He will be an attendee ( along with all the other
technicians ) at the Annual Hawaii Pest Control Association Learning Conference in September.
Daniel Reis
Daniel started with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc in October 2018. He usually services properties for our North Shore customers. Daniel graduated from Kapaa High School and when not working, enjoys spending time with his young daughter.Daniel is Certified Pest Control Technician with DOA certification Licenses E50933 for 7b for Termites and 7c for Pest Control.
Trevis Rapozo
Trevis began working for Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in June 2022. He graduated from Kapaa High School. Trevis is a Certified Pest Control Technician with Department of Ag License C51810 7B and 7C.
Zylan Pa-Conant
Zylan began working for Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in October 2022. He graduated from Kapaa High School as well as Kauai Community College. Zylan is an authorized Sentricon Termite technician and a Jr. Pest Control technician.

Bebe Smith
Bebe started with Mokihana since its inception, in 1981, along with Gary.
She is the coordinator of the pest control software, upgrades and training as well as computer hardware troubleshooting and purchasing.
Coral Castillo
Coral started with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in April 2009. She is one of the cheery voices you hear when you call Mokihana! When not taking incoming calls she is busy helping customers with their schedules for service.
Brooke Planas
Brooke started with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in Aug 2011. She is a graduate of Waimea High School and has an accounting degree from Kauai Community College. Brooke is charged with all accounting matters and serves as our office manager. She holds a Dept of Ag certification license C5119 for 7B Termites and 7C General Pest Control.
Mavi Kaneg
Mavi began with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in October of 2015. She is busy answering your calls as well managing our Commercial Accounts. She holds a Dept of Ag certification license C51165 for 7B Termites and 7C General Pest Control.
Leeza Tamashiro
Leeza began with Mokihana Pest Control, Inc. in February 2022. She is busy answering your calls as well scheduling service for Residential accounts. She is a graduate of Waimea High School as well as Kauai Community College.
